Henry Petersen Succumbs

Well Known Blair Barber Ill For Several Years

Henry C. Petersen, well known barber in Blair, passed away at his home at 224 E. Washington, Wednesday afternoon at the age of 64 years. He was born November 10, 1887 at Herman.

Survivors are his wife, Sophie, one son, Chris N. of Blair; one daughter, Mrs. Mildred Thitje of West Point and seven grandchildren. Also, one brother, Nels Pedersen of Decatur, two sisters, Mrs. Walter Wachter of Hubbard, Nebraska and Mrs. Peter Anderson of Herman.

The Bendorf Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and a complete obituary will be given next week.

HENRY PETERSEN BURIAL SATURDAY

Henry Petersen, well known in this county, passed away Wednesday, January 9th at this home on East Washington street. He had been in poor health for years and finally was forced to give up his barber business which he had carried on for forty-three years.

Henry was born on a farm near Herman on November 10, 1887, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nels Pedersen. He received his early education in the district school and later took a course in barbering, which trade he followed all his life.

He was married to Miss Sophia Nielsen on October 7, 1908 and to them two children were born, Chris of Blair and Mrs. Bud Thietje (Mildred) of West Point. These with the bereaved mother survive as do also one brother, Nels, of Decatur and two sisters, Mrs. Walter Wachter of Hubbard, Nebraska and Mrs. Peter Andersen of Herman.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the First Lutheran church with Rev. H.C. Jorgensen officiating and interment under the supervision of the Bendorf Funeral Home was made in the Blair cemetery.

During their married life Mr. and Mrs. Petersen living in Blair and during that time they drew many friends to them. All who knew them respected then for their sterling qualities and Henry while frail in health was a real man among men.

The pallbearers who bore the body to its last resting place were: Ross Deets, Roy Atwood, Ted Jarosz, Paul Hansen, Arthur Beck and Fred Dickmeyer.
