Howard Petersen, 76
Howard Hemming Petersen was born September 22, 1911, to Lars P. and Kristine Hansen Petersen at Blair.
He was baptized into the Lutheran faith on November 21, 1937.
He was confirmed at the Immanuel Lutheran Church on November 30, 1952.
On April 2, 1932, he was united in marriage to Anna Juul.
To this union, two children were born, Larry Petersen and Charlotte, Mrs. Dallas Jahn.
Howard held various offices in the Orum Church before getting hurt and losing his sight in 1955.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lars and Kristine, one grandson, Kenny Jahn, two sisters Mae Andersen and Alice Vogt.
He is survived by his wife Anna, two children, Larry of Arlington, and Charlotte Jahn of Fremont, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and three step-grandchildren, a sister, Olga, Mrs. Eggert Wulf, of Blair.
During the last several years he played his music at nursing homes in the Blair and Missouri Valley areas.
Casket bearers were David Kuhr, Don Rasmussen, Glen Vogt, Leland Vogt, Ervin Wulf and Vernon Wulf.
Honorary pallbearers were Milton Carlberg, Arthur S. Jensen, Alvin Katt, Bill Newkirk, Earl Thompson and Pern Wood.
