Services for Milton Carlberg, 82 of Fremont who died November 26, 1992 at Merrick Manor in Fremont were Monday, November 30 at the First United Methodist Church in Fremont. Dr. Carol Roettmer Brewer officiated. Burial was in the Arlington Cemetery.
Milton Carlberg was born May 22, 1910 on the family farm near Arlington. He grew up there, graduating from the Arlington High School in 1928. He then attended the University of Nebraska Agricultural College in Lincoln.
He farmed near Arlington all his working years. When he retired in 1972, he moved to Cedar Bluffs and then to Fremont in 1980.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fremont.
He married Blanche Whorlow in Iowa in February 7, 1931. She received her degree from Dana College and taught at Blair High School until retiring in 1972. She preceded him in death February 1, 1990.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Walis.
He is survived by a son and his wife, Gene and Elaine of Bakersfield, California; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Rolin Carlberg of Fremont and Francis Carlberg of Folsom, California; and one sister, Verda (Mrs. Duane) Knoell of Fremont.
Ludvigsen Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

The funeral for Milton Carlberg, 82, 650 W. 21st St., formerly of the Arlington area, will be 2 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church in Fremont.
Carlberg died Thursday, Nov. 26, 1992, at A. J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.
He was born May 22, 1910, on the family farm near Arlington. He grew up there and graduated from Arlington High School in 1928. He attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He farmed near Arlington and retired in 1972. He then moved to Cedar Bluffs and to Fremont in 1980.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fremont.
He married Blanche Whorlow Feb. 7, 1931, in Iowa. She died Feb. 1, 1990.
Survivors include a son, Gene of Bakersfield, Calif.; two brothers, Rolin of Fremont and Francis of Folsom, Calif.; a sister, Verda Knoell of Fremont; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
The Rev. Carol Roettmer Brewer will officiate Monday’s service. Visitation will be 2 – 9 p.m. Sunday and 9 – 11 a.m. Monday, both at Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery.
A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society.
