Funeral services were held Saturday, April 11, at Elk Horn, Iowa, for Lars Jorgen Petersen, who died April 9, 1981, in Elk Horn after a lengthy illness with cancer.

Lars Jorgen Petersen was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on July 22, 1900. He lived near Blair during his youth and young adult years.

He is survived by his wife, Martha; and one son, Merle Petersen of Kimballton, Iowa; and two daughters, Pauline (Mrs. William) Bahanke of Omaha and Ellen (Mrs. Warren) Whitaker of Blair. Six grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Ann Thompson of rural Blair and Mrs. Matilda Hart of Harlan, Iowa; and one brother, Walter Petersen of rural Blair, also survive him.
