LeRoy F. Dunklau, 72, of Arlington, died Sunday, July 11, 2004, at the Fremont Area Medical Center. Funeral services were Thursday, July 15, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, north of Arlington, with the Rev. Timothy Gierke of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Fremont officiating. Interment was in St. Paul’s Cemetery.

LeRoy F. Dunklau was born Feb. 3, 1932, in Arlington to Emil and Lenora (Hilgenkamp) Dunklau. He was a lifetime resident of Arlington and was a farmer and a dairyman. He served three enlistments in the Army National Guard, from Aug. 1950 until March 1959, and was discharged with the rank of Sergeant.

On Jan. 5, 1958, he married Donna Danielmeyer at St. Paul’s Lutheran church. He was a life member of St. Paul’s, where he served on the church finance board, was a member of the Lutheran Laymen’s League and was a past treasurer. He was also a former board member of Production Credit Association.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Joyce Dunklau, and Randy and Susan Dunklau, all of Arlington; brother and sister-in-law, Dyral and Illene Dunklau, and sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Ron Hilgenkamp, all of Arlington; five grandchildren; many relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Judy Dunklau; and an infant granddaughter, Laura Richelle Dunklau.

Memorials are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Arlington, the Lutheran Hour, or the Arlington Rescue Squad.
