Max Sears
Max Sears, age 72, Decatur, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, February 18, 1987 at a Sioux City, Iowa hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was born on April 13, 1914, at Decatur and was married to Rachel Miller October 1, 1938, at Fremont.
The couple lived on a farm near Lyons prior to moving to Decatur in 1946.
Max was a Heavy Equipment Operating Engineer in Omaha and the surrounding area prior to his retirement in 1973.
He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Decatur.
Survivors include his wife, Rachel Sears of Decatur; two daughters: Sally Santos of Gilroy, California and Trudi Fahrenholz of Lincoln; three sons: Rex and Tony Sears of Decatur and Danny Sears of Blair; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and one sister, Marybelle Connealy of Decatur.
Funeral Services were held at 10:30 on Saturday, February 21, 1987, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Decatur with Pastor Brion P. Tolzman officiating.
Interment was in the Hillcrest Cemetery at Decatur.
A prayer service was held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday evening at the Hamel & Peck Funeral Home in Tekamah, who handled the arrangements.
