FAYME DIXON DIES IN NEW YORK CITY
Hans Aye has received word of the death of his aunt, Miss Fayme Dixon, of New York City, who passed away on June 6th. She had suffered from cancer for over a year.
Miss Dixon was born to the late Effie and Earl Dixon, in Blair on July 26th, 1897 and would have been 65 years of age. After graduating from the Blair High School and Wayne State College, she received her Master’s degree from Columbia University in New York City.
She taught in the High Schools at O’Neill, Kearney, and Blair, Nebraska. In 1925, she started teaching in New York.
While in Blair she was a member of the St. Mary’s Episcopal Church.
She is survived by four sisters: Mrs. Lena Aye and Mrs. Della Clarkson of Kansas City, Missouri; Mrs. June McMahon of Portland, Oregon; Mrs. Carolyn Quattrocchi of New York City; three brothers, Richard Dixon of Corona, California; Willard Dixon (address unknown); and Louis Dixon of St. Louis, Missouri. Gifford Dixon, Sr. is her cousin.
Burial was in the Roslyn Long Island Cemetery.
