MARJEAN HEESE
Schuyler resident Marjean R. Heese, 88, passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at Independence House at Northview in Lincoln with her family by her side.
Marjean R. Heese was born Oct. 4, 1924 in rural Arlington, the daughter of Jesse and Grace (Hanslip) Wallingford. She married Maynard H. Heese on Dec. 19, 1941 in Fremont. She and Maynard farmed south of Dodge for 46 years and when they retired they moved to Schuyler. Marjean enjoyed caring for her family, baking, gardening, cooking and sewing.
Marjean is survived by her husband of 71 years, Maynard; four children, Leslie Hesse (and his wife, Irma) of Michigan; Janet Wilson (and her husband, Francis) of Kearney; Wesley W. Heese (and his wife, Terry) of Florida; and Candice Labenz (and her friend, Jim) Mortenson of Schuyler; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Larry Wallingford (and his wife Donann): two sisters-in-law, Verjean Joiner and Margaret Heese; many step-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; along with a host of other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Clifford Wallingford; and sister, Marie Dau.
Memorial service will be held at a later date. In honoring her wishes for cremation, there will be no visitation.
Lincoln Family Funeral Care in Lincoln is handling arrangements. Memorials may be directed to her family.
